How long after...?

My husband and I are in the middle of a separation (although we both contributed to breakup, I was tired of being second to his work, so I instigated the breakup), and have met the most amazing man ever. I care more for him than I ever did for my DH; I know how some of you may react to this, but I can't help myself. I had been alone in my marriage for more than 10 years, so I feel like I have been living on my own. The question I want answers from is, what is the 'ideal' time after our separation can I start to date again?

I dont think there is a magic #. If the previous relationship has been dead for many yrs, some may move on sooner. Best of luck

You're all grown up, kelly 68. Do what you want. The courts don't care and your friends and family know the situation.

"Ideal" doesn't apply.

However, how is it you know this man is "amazing"? How did you come to "care for him" if you haven't been dating him already? Rebound dating can be troublesome. Give your intellect priority over your emotions as you move along.

Pretty much what BoatDrinks said. Milo, urea, or a high nitrogen (low everything else) fertilizer is not an issue. Some labs don't test nitrogen. Any good soil review will ignore your nitrogen or specifically mention it doesn't matter a jot (it varies too much due to weather conditions, time of day, and so on). For starter, 3 weeks with normal rainfall or irrigation is about the right time to wait. You could go earlier, but when quoting your test make very, very sure to mention that. Several times. Dale - any time you change the environment, the growing conditions, of a growing thing it is "set back", it must adjust. "Changing its growing conditions" includes transplanting at any stage, changing its soil, its air temps both day or night, its sun exposure, its nutrient levels, pinching/pruning, etc. If you are trying to force the blooms for some reason, if by 'better results' you mean faster blooming then the shortest time frame between seed and a bloom is with direct seeding the plant right where it will spend its life. Any other approach interrupts the growth process. Btw, there are many other methods of growing from seed besides the 2 listed above. I.e. winter-sowing with recycled containers, using a greenhouse, cold frame, or hoop house, frost-seeding, growing on a sunny windowsill, etc The 2 methods of growing from seed are direct seeding or growing under cover, what I mistakenly called "indoors". All the other methods you mention are under cover methods and all, even winter sowing, involve a change in the growing conditions. Dave

If the infestation isn't too severe, you may still be able to get them down to acceptable levels. Sorry for the scare btw, but i don't think people realize how hard it is to get rid of them once they're dug in. !) Yellow sticky cards for detection and to get some of the adults. 2) Diligent spraying of damn near any plant with insecticidal soaps and neem oil. If you prefer, 'inorganic" sprays I'm sure are also available, but I don't know if they do any better. 3) This is probably the most effective and I'm still working on it myself(damn gophers) is to go with integrated pest management. Create an insectary for beneficial bugs to feed and breed year round so when the pests show up, you have the good guys to take care of them. Once you do this, you'll be able to decrease the pesticide use and you'll want to. Because you don't want to kill the good guys also. Read up on IPM(Integrated Pest management) -- also a forum on GW 4) in the meantime(since you probably don't have an insectary yet) you may want to order some beneficial bugs/larvae that you can release. I'm going to order some green lacewing eggs shortly. After my first marriage fell apart I waited until I was legally separated before I began casually dating. I also spent a lot of time looking into how I contributed to the failure of my marriage.

A week before my divorce became final, I met the man who is now my husband. We dated for nearly a year before I introduced him to my son, and then another 3 years before we married.

I guess my advice is take things very slowly, don't give your heart away too soon and realize that you have the rest of your life to find the perfect partner.

Remember too Love is always AMAZING in the first, romance stages. Listen to keli, take things slowly. I'v seen people go from the frying pan to the fire, find they're dating people just like their ex, or as with Kelli their future mate.

This is just my opinion, and I don't want to sound odd, but I don't think anyone, man or woman, is sane for the first year after a divorce.

I wouldn't consider dating someone that hadn't been divorced for at least that long. However, in my single days (daze?) I had a rule that I couldn't date anyone that had ever been divorced. Luckily, my DH didn't have the same rule!

As soon as you feel that you are ready too. From what you have said i think you are ready, because you were emotionally, physically and mentally alone for 10 years so it was like you were single anyway. I say go for it. Good luck.
