Hi everyone Thanks so much for your thoughts so far - they are really helpful and have given me things to really think about. Here are some pictures of the space - the house belonged to my husbands parents so it has not been decorated in decades. You can see there is still paneling on the wall. Please excuse the boxes - my husband was using it as a den and has packed up his stuff to move to his new office (still being built). It is a nice size room, big window, lots of light. Flooring My husband is building the cabinetry which will be somewhat in a 'Shaker' / "Cape Cod' style similiar to picture. I was going to paint them an antique white with black hardware but open to suggestions. This is a draft copy of the units my husband is building for me which will be placed on the long walls facing eachother. Here is the picture again I mentioned. It is still a work in progress as I am restoring an old wood frame by painting it. I am not finished yet with this. This is a picture of the print on a pair of sheer curtains I was "thinking" of using but I am not sure if they are right for the space. I did think of a deep gold but I have BM Dijon in my hallway and thought it would be yellow overload. Your thoughts? Or a Rose, raspberry or orange shade??? Any color suggestions are appreciated. My days always start around noon as far as getting anything accomplished. No, I don't sleep all morning. My joints don't cooperate and it takes hours to get going. So around 1 o'clock I went into town and looked around at the new thrift shop. It is really nice, clean and everything displayed neatly. Didn't buy anything though. Then I went to Sharp Shopper and found my favorite soft drink (Cheerwine) 2 twelve packs for $2.50. Got 2, plus celery, bread, Texas Toast, and a half gallon of milk. The price of milk has increased another 10¢. Then I went to KMart for TP and Aleve (generic). Checked my blood pressure: 117/56/68. Next to $Tree for batteries then to BigLots but only bought a big bag of Tootsie Midges. Not a big shopping day, but the first chance I've had to ramble for a couple months. Next stop was at Bank of America to close out my account there, and then took the paper work to DuPont Credit Union where I had already opened an account. Last stop was Krogers for some groceries. I was tired and thirsty so I just sat on the porch and had a cold Cheerwine. Then a friend stopped by and we chatted until after 8 o'clock. Finally I made myself a left-over tuna salad sandwich, and made tea for tomorrow. Watched the news and here I am on the PC, at the KT. Tomorrow I won't be any good for anything!! I tried a few places in NYC and this is my experience: Dunkin Donuts and Subway, said they don't get anything in buckets. Coldstone creamery, said i should come back on a day that they change stock. Waiting to see what size they have and if they actually will give me them. I walked into a small Chinese Store and they gave me a 5 bucket gallon that had soy sauce in it. They didn't look too happy about it even though the store was empty and they throw them out. now my question is how long do i soak water in it to get rid of all the salt from the soy sauce...?
