our new house will have a U shaped staircase with the stairs developed to the basement.

In the floorplan drawings, the posts on the main floor are in line.

If you look in the photograph, you'll notice the back two posts (for the stairs going upstairs) are aligned. But the closest post (the one for the stairs heading to the basement) is shorter. It isn't aligned with the other 2 posts.

Any opinions? I know it's silly, but it kind of bothers me that they're not in line. However, it does open up the hallway to the living room where I am standing as the picture is taken.
