LI Modular Extension for Disabled Parent

Hello:

We're considering a modular extension on our ranch home for my mom who has some disabilities. We have stick plan which takes into consideration her special needs like handicapped bathroom, extra wide doorways etc. The extention planned would be wonderful-nice quality and look great when attached to the current home-you would'nt know it was an extension. Question-can stick plan be converted to modular? Are there any cost savings from doing modular over stick? How far can you go with customization before you might as well do it the old fashioned way? Can seperate heating systems be set up in these units? Suggestions on who to contact for this project? Thanks!

RE: LI Modular Extension for Disabled Parent

i have a friend that joined a single wide home to a double wide home at the kitchen/dinette area with a breezeway..both were set up side by side one in front of the other..and a hole was cut in each and a breezeway built between the two.

the homes ended up being 6 bedroom, 4 bath, huge kitchen, dinette, family room, living room, 2 laundry areas.

it was like a mansion..and it was wonderful.

some areas would not allow this to be done.
