Does anyone have a mobile home in a cold climate?

I'm considering buying a 16 yr old mobile home and if I do, I want to redecorate it, and I am concerned about how to deal with the seams in the walls. I would want to put up beadboard - is this doable? The RE agent told me that I can't remove the strips on the walls and ceiling because they are for movement of the home. I live in an area that has extreme temperature differences between winter and summer (east coast of Canada). Would I be stuck with the seams?

If the home is on a slab it won't move very much...the whole slab and home might move together. If it's set up on piers it will definitley move.I think what the RE agent is saying is that when the home moves the strips in the corners will cover up any movement of the two walls under that point. The strips don't hold the home together. They are just there for the cosmetics.
I'm not sure that I've ever heard of beadboard! What is it?
