the year of the mud

so how many of you are experienceing the year of the mud after having just moved into your home since last fall?

we went through it in the year 2003 and somewhat in 2004 as not all was growing well..Son went through it in 2006 when he moved his home in next to us and is still experiencing it..we also have the mud flats between us where we buried pex for wood boiler last November..and he is now also doing a walk out from his basement..

If you are going through the year of the mud..have patience..it won't last forever..eventually the mud goes away and you'll have lawn..photo 20

one good thing is now you have your paths established..if nothing more put in some pavers to step on..at first we used boards and bales of hay..but got the pavers in first thing.

i know money is short..so if you don't have pavers..at least get some spoiled hay to walk on.

now is a good time also to start getting in that lawn..and don't walk on it once it is planted until you are ready to mow if you can help it..you have those paths !!!!

Mark out your flower/tree beds now OK..you might not get them planted..but keep that grass seed out of them..if you hve that hay..put it on those beds..remember the more beds you have the more you can grow and the less lawn to mow..might not seem important now but it will.
