Silvercrest 4-Wide Problems

Hi all. This is my first post here. Thought I would share with you some of the problems we have had since December 2005.

First are foundation problems with the dealer's subcontractor:

We, of course, solved that problem by hiring our own licensed masonry contractor and now have a terrific foundation.

The second biggest problem is with the roof. The culprits here are the setup company and the Silvercrest repair crew:

We have had problem after problem. Our saving grace is that we refuse to sign the delivery ticket which will release the funds in escrow until this house is finished to our satisfaction. It has now been 14 months since the house was delivered to our property.

Silvercrest makes a fine manufactured home. The problems we have had are with the setup company and Silvercrest's repair crews not being properly trained. Silvercrest does a fine job on squeaky floors and caulking, but when it comes to something major, like a roof and marriage lines ... well they depend on the work pool available in the area.

Moral of the story: Check out the setup company before you buy.
