Refinish trim for shower light?

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes! The trim in our shower ceiling light is old, and needs to be refinished. Can I just use steel wool on the old finish to rough it up a bit and then spray paint it bronze to match the other fixtures in the bathroom?

I don't see any reason why not.
As long as the surface is prepared properly and you use a water proof paint,
probably an enamel base, it should hold up.
