| We're remodeling the exterior of our house right now (new siding, front door and door surround). I purchased two Hinkley "Cape Cod" extra large onion lamps in sienna bronze (model 2205SZ) They're 26" tall (including the tall hook) and 14" wide. Our door is a standard 3'x6'8" tall. I mocked them up in Google Sketchup to see how they'd look:

Do you think these are too big? I know that people tend to undersize their front lanterns, but I'm afraid these are truly oversized and overpower the entrance. I'm considering putting them on New Hampshire's craigslist. Thanks for any advice ... Jennifer in seacoast NH |

| If you got the proportions right in your mock-up, I don't think they are too big at all, and think they look nice. I think the bigger, wider trim around your door allows you to use bigger lamps like that as opposed to a door with just narrow trim. Sue |
