| I am trying to figure out where and how many lights to install in my living/entertainment room. The dimensions are roughly 18' x 14'. The TV is centered along the long wall. I was thinking of 2 rows of 3, but wasn't sure if that would be a good idea since one of the lights would end up right above the TV. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

| If the space will also be used for reading and all the lighting is coming from recessed cans, plan on ~ 20 lumens per sq ft. Total requirement - 5040 lumens. If CR6 type lights will be used on dimming circuits, ~ 9 - 10 cans will be needed. Modern dimmers cut the max power by ~ 5%. The lights could be arranged in a U shape with the TV wall at the top of the U. Other light sources such as torchieres, table lamps could be used to create brighter zones. |
