Getting a square shaped fixture to hang right

Posted by mycatz (My Page) on

Husband installed a new outdoor light fixture which is square shaped and hangs on a chain. Does anyone know a trick or how to get the light fixture to hang so that it is perfectly "squared". The fixture is hanging over the front door and turns just a little to the left, which is driving me nuts. Appreciate any help, thanks!

Usually the chain is fastened to an eye on the fixture canopy. Breaker off, remove the canopy from the box, loosen the nut holding the eye in place, rotate eye a few degrees as desired, re-tighten the nut, refit canopy to box. Repeat if it's still not hanging as you like it.
