 o
sconces as primary light??

Hello all- first post here.

We are building a new house. The living room has double-height ceilings (20 ft). We got a pretty fancy lighting designer to come out, and she recommended lighting the room with 6 sconce lights (instead of 6 5" cans).

What do you think? Will this be enough light?

RE: sconces as primary light??

The advantage of sconces over cans is that they won't create heavy shadows, since they reflect some of their light off the walls and ceilings (indirect lighting). As long as they have comparable lumen output, I think you'll find them more useful and comfortable than cans.
