I know it's a longshot, but does anyone remember (back in the 80's and 90's) lights that came in a clear plastic tube? These appeared to be several incadescent lights wired in series, placed in tubes 1 - 3 feet in length, with lampcords attached. They had in line switches mounted on the cords.

The tubes were about one half inch in diameter, and they were mounted in brass or chrome "u" shaped channels, with self-adhesive strips for easy mounting. I bought these from an ad in the Sunday NY Times, and may have seen them at Home Depot.

If anyone remembers them, would you know if they're available, still?
