recessed lighting in tray ceiling

I'm unsure about the best placement of recessed lighting in a tray ceiling.

This is a new construction family room, 18'x22'. Ceiling is 10', with an 18" soffit around the perimeter, dropping the ceiling height there to 9'. TV wall will have a combination of built-in bookcases and window seats, all beneath the soffit.

I will likely want to use 4" cans. I would also consider using some sort of drum pendant or semi-flush mount fixture in the center of the room.

Seems like a can or two in the soffit over the fireplace would make sense. Also, a can in the soffit above each window seat. Beyond that, will I want more cans around the room in the soffit? Evenly spaced around the perimeter, or only where there's a wall for the light to bounce off of (so, therefore, not in front of the patio door, windows, or doorways)?

If I do puts cans in the soffit, and if I do go with a ceiling light fixture in the center of the room, could I get by with cans just in the corners of the tray (10' interior part of ceiling)? And do I want to keep cans away from the TV, to avoid glare?

Anything else I'm overlooking? Thanks for your help.
