pls help me decide between 3" and 6" track head length

I have plenty of headroom in my kitchen so that's not an issue -- the monorail is already installed but I am paralyzed by the choice between 3" and 6" track head stem length. Can anyone help? Does having the track head 3" closer actually make things brighter?
