Swag or Move Chandelier

We've purchased a new chandelier to replace the one left by the previous homeowners. Here is the new chandelier:

We're about to call the electrician to install it, but aren't sure what to do about the fact the chandelier isn't centered over the table.

The chandelier is set exactly in the middle of the room, but if you place the table there you can't comfortably pass through the room (one side of the room has open passways and doubles as a hallway between the living room and the kitchen). So we have the table further over to one side, which means the chandelier is a few feet over from its center. Also not good for accidentally hitting your head on it if you get too close.

We could just swag it, but will that look weird? We've invested in a gorgeous Hubbardton Forge chandelier and want it to look good.

The other problem is that we're using an old dining room table that we plan to replace in a few years (not currently in the budget). Whatever table we buy would likely be a similar size and shape, but we may get an added hutch or cabinet that might force the table to shift back over a bit. I realize that we've done this backwards and maybe should have lived with the existing chandelier until we buy a new furniture set, but we were impatient to replace the chandelier since it's really not our style and doesn't match anything else in the house, and it's a very open concept house.

We've also just painted the dining room (but not the ceiling) and aren't too thrilled with the prospect of messing up the ceiling and having to call back the painters.

Should we just swag it? Would that look "not quite right"? Or should we bite the bullet and move it, taking a risk that it may need to be moved again (really really don't want to go there).
