Do a blind test on your family. Randomly switch the halogens with the 3000K LEDs and see if they can really tell the difference.

Oh, there's a huge difference. I switched in the new bulbs, saw how different it looked, and then brought my wife in and asked her if she noticed anything different (she did know that I had bought the LEDs). She said that she could get used to it and it's good that our electric bill will go down, but everything looked different. The light was spread out more evenly than before, but it was sort of cloudy and harder to see things even though they were at full power. Dimming them only made it worse.

When our 24 year old son, who didn't know about it, came into the kitchen, the first thing he said was, "What the heck happened in here? This looks awful!"

Color rendering is not going to be nearly as good with the LEDs.

If you use lights like the cr6, the color rendition index will >80.

Not all led lamps are equal

If you replace a PAR with a BR, the BR's beam pattern will be much wider.

I've also found that the beam pattern of LED BRs tends to be wider 90ð-120ð than incandescent/halogen (70-80ð). If you swap out a single LED, it might seem "cloudy" immediately below the lamp, as less light is hitting the ground. BUT, if you replace all of the lamps with the wider beam LEDs, their beams overlap and the brightness [mostly] returns. In addition, the wider throw means that your walls will not be as dark.
