Pendant lighting for 3' x 5' kitchen table

Hi. I am redoing a kitchen and putting in built-in seating and a 3x5 ft. table. I need to choose lighting to go above this table. My architect has drawn 2 light fixtures over this table. If I put 2 pendant fixtures there, I'm not sure how big (wide) each should be and how much light each should give off. In this nook of the kitchen (about 6x7 ft), there is no other light fixtures, though it is a small kitchen (about 17' x 10') with what seems like plenty of light spread around.

If you use 2 pendants, they will look good at about 16" or smaller. We would normally use pendants in groups of 3 and smaller than the those previous dimensions. A lot of this depends of the style of the room and the look you are trying to achieve. There is no one good answer. Glad to help. ginger@yourlightsite.com
