MR11 bulbs alternatives?

We have recessed MR11 cans (high-hats, recessed lights...) and they just don't seem bright enough on their own.

They seem to have transformers inside the cans so I can't just rip them out.

Is there some way to replace the bulb or just the insert to get a brighter light coming out of these low voltage things?
