There's no problem with using these trims, but you should really re -consider using a GU-10 lamp

How so? I have a few fixtures in my house (non-recessed) using GU-10s and they seem to work fine for me. They're fairly easy to install and give off a nice light.

Any specifics on issues that you've encountered? I would have figured that since it's essentially the same bulb as a standard MR-16, there wouldn't be much difference aside from the socket...
