Lighting Over Kitchen Sink

We just moved into our country home and discovered no real lighting over the kitchen sink. There is an under the counter flourescent and a light over the stove a small counter away. We prefer something we don't have to hardwire because the ceiling is this cool barrel wood ceiling.

Sconces on the wall above the window? Or even on the sides of the adjacent cabinets?

Three ideas come to mind.

1st: A picture/portrait lamp attached to the wall behind the swag curtain and hanging over the curtain to shine down on the sink. Can be plugged in to the right of the window

2nd: Create a 6" deep header box over the window and put a fluorescent tube in it so that it shines down. Can be plugged into the right of the window.

3rd: Put in a decorative shelf with trim board spanning from one cabinet to the next just over the window. Mount a light on the underside side of it. The wiring could then be run down inside a cabinet and plugged into a wall outlet or just tied into the line in the wall.
