| I am debating getting 4 recessed lights in our greater on or not. There is a ceiling fan in the middle of the room and big windows on the side looking out. The great room is open all the way to the second floor so the lights would be on the ceiling of second floor.
Are recessed cans in great room a dated thing to do? We do plan in getting lamps also. Thanks |

| Not necessarily, though the height may not be convenient. Wall sconces, cove lighting, floor lamps, ... could be deployed as alternatives. |

| You need a lot of lumens to get strong light from the second story to the ground floor. |
