 o
Rewiring/Modify Light Type in Ceiling Fan

We were able to get some very nice discontinued modern ceiling fans last week for a song.

However, I am not that happy with the light choice. This fan uses a 40watt Candelabra style bulb, and while I can change from incandescent to CFL I would like to go to LED or Halogen. I have at my disposal lots of electronic repair tools, SMT rework stations, and other equipment - so the actual modification and electrical work could be done.

I would love to put in the surface mount Commercial Lighting LED light innards inside the fan...rewiring it. Anyone see reasons why this wouldn't work if I can make it fit?

Below is a picture of the light bulb section of my fan.

I think this shouldn't be too much of a problem. I might even convert it to Halogen if I can't make the LED light work.

I need a good amount of light out of 2 of the fans - one fan we only need a small amount of light so LED would probably be fine...
