| I have a 2-story foyer and want a lantern instead of a chandelier. The lantern will hang from a 6 ft diameter shallow dome within a soffit that is roughly 15 x 15 and that section is in the foyer that is a bit bigger. I've found lanterns at Urban Archaeology and elsewhere that I really like and suit the Georgian style of our house, but have no idea how wide and tall it should be. Is 2 ft wide too small? I know if I were to chose a chandelier (which I really don't want) I could go many feet wide and it would work. Any thoughts? thanks. |
