Regular line convert to low voltage - mini pendants?

I need your help.

My two over the island pendants are on a regular line.
How easy is to change it to low voltage ( most of the pendants I like are low voltage).?
I don't like to by a canopy with an integrated transformer since I like the slick look of the flat canopies.
Can the transformer be placed and hidden in the ceiling/attic? How easy is to convert?
