7'8" ceilings low or high?

Hello,

I have 7'8" ceilings. Are these too low for recessed lighting? Most of the internet says not to use recessed lighting on low ceilings, otherwise, it makes the room appear even shorter. What are my options? track light? boob light? chandelier?

Thanks,
Toby

No, not too low for recessed lighting.
On the contrary, if the ceiling is really low, people may install recessed lighting solutions to avoid having fixtures that taller people could bump into.

I had a lower ceiling before ~ 7 ft which had a recessed fluorescent tube light box.

The type of lighting to use depends a lot on the function of the room.
