I am having trouble with sockets for a tube I am replacing in a range hood. The tube is the same size and the correct replacement. The sockets appear to have a black plastic ring (which may contain copper wire) blocking the slot that the tube should ride up in to. The ring is not flexible and I cant figure out how the previous tube could have been inserted if these rings were there to begin with. Any ideas...?
