The Halo LED modules are not as efficient as the Cree equivalents and have to be fitted with the Halo LED can which uses a proprietary 2 pin connector.

With the CR6, the trim is already integrated with the module. In addition, these modules can be fitted into standard 6" cans.

These days, it seems that Home Depot is selling a lot more Cree modules...

It depends on the angle of the slope. If the slope > 10 degrees, it makes more sense to use slope ceiling cans. Sloped ceiling cans attempt to direct the light perpendicular to the floor. More space is required above the ceiling board. However, they are far less common as most recessed lighting assumes a flat horizontal ceiling.

A diffuser would help reduce the dazzling points of light at the expense of light output.

An alternate lighting arrangement - for example cove lighting may be more appropriate.
