Replacing porch light-need help

We have a porch wall light that was installed by the PO of our house and with other problems in our house we know that they didn't always do things properly. Anyway, the light has a motion sensor which no longer works so we screw the bulb in or out as needed. The weird thing is there is NO switch that works this light, it always has power to it. We want to replace the light but I don't know what kind of light I need. Also I wonder if a switch for the light can be installed inside the door (this is our front door) without much difficulty. I will have an electrician do the work but I need to have the light when they come out-I don't want to pay for two service calls. TIA for any help!

An electrician should make easy work of adding a switch, but I'd look into more of a TIMER instead of a motion light. They actually make switches now that you can program an on/off time, that way your light can come on at dusk & go off in the AM. Having it on motion is not ideal for a porch light (better for security floods on the side of the house). If this works, then just get any porch light that you like from the local hardware store! Doesn't seem like you are in Phoenix, but my website has tons of cool pics of frontyards and possibly lights
