Is this UCL done right? x-post kitchens

Our kitchen reno is done. Kind of. The light valence that was installed, a visible gap is still present so we can see the ucl through it. It was already fixed once, but will need to be done again I believe. So while pondering this, I'm wondering if these ucl are installed correctly.
Is it normal to have the big plugs visible, or is this done incorrectly?

The wirenuts should have been housed in a junction box.

I'm guessing that the install has not been inspected?

No, hasn't been inspected. Going to see if I can call today to get that done. Thank you for the response. One of the marrettes fell off yesterday, that was fun. Not so safe!
