 o
motion sensor flood light recommendation?

I am trying to replace two outdoor flood lights--one for the driveway, one for a backyard corner. Both have motion sensors. The area each needs to cover is not very large.

I bought and had installed two Heath/Zenith fixtures (sh-5412-bz-a for driveway, sh-5105-bz-b for backyard) from Lowe's, but neither is working very well. Very spotty sensing; I basically have to be right up under them for them to come on. And that's when they're set to the maximum sensitivity. Not sure whether they're faulty units or what, but I need to swap them out. These were two-bulb, metal fixtures with bulb shields (bronze color).

One issue with the backyard light is that the gutter downspout is very near the sensor. I thought it was positioned where that wouldn't be an issue, but I may need to look for one with a sensor that drops down farther.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good brand/model or have any experience with these Heath-Zenith fixtures? I want to get it right this next time, so I don't have to call the electrician yet again. Thanks!

there's a German-made product under the "Steinel" brand.
Expensive, but excellent.

I used these sensors from Rab...

along with their Swoop fixture. They have worked very well for my application.
