 o
suggestions for lighting a very long, skinny room

We're building an addition and the first floor family room is going to be very long and skinny (approx. 30 X 12). It's also going to be somewhat divided into three smaller living areas, with a furniture grouping and tv in the middle, a desk and computer at one end and workout equipment at the other end.

The room that it's replacing (same footprint) has two ceiling fans with lights but even when they're both lit, it's very dark.

I was thinking of doing one huge ceiling fan in the center this time, but didn't know how to add more ceiling lights to be able to brighten the room up without having to have too many lamps. I'm open to any suggestions - thanks in advance!

Assuming recesssed lighting cans, I'd space them evenly throughout the room. Maybe 10.
