What height for a foyer fixture?

I'm looking at antique fixtures for our foyer, and wondered if there is an ideal height for a ceiling fixture? The ceiling is 9'5". Many of the antique fixtures are quite long, so I need to be sure before buying one. The front door is the usual 6'8", with a transom, if that makes a difference. The size of the foyer is about 6'X9'. Thanks!
