We bought our home about 2 yrs ago and it was originally built in 1973. We changed the layout of the dining kitchen dining area and removed a chandelier. Im trying to find out some information on it but I cannot find any names on it. I dont know if the previous owners put it up or it came with the house? Do I need to take it completely apart to look on the inside to find the manufacturer of the chandelier?

It may not be marked any place.

Yes, there is an excellent chance that the inside is not marked at all beyond a country of origin label and possibly a UL sticker. Many of the big names we associate with lighting fixtures are not manufacturers but marketers of light fixtures made by other companies.

The style should give some hints about whether the fixture dates to the early 1970's or not. Most early 1970's fixtures have a distinct style. Are you looking for parts or information to help sell the fixture.

"possibly a UL sticker'

Commonly found inside the ceiling canopy.
