LED - 4" recessed - interchangeable?

Hi,
My husband bought a Commercial Electric 4" LED light (bulb/trim) from Home Depot and it has a connector which just screws in like a normal light bulb. He wanted me to take a look at the lighting and see how I liked it.

He was going to install normal housing and then use these bulbs/trim (I do not currently have recessed lights at all).

What I'm wondering is, will the Cree/Ecosmart 4" bulbs/trims be interchangeable with these where I can switch if I don't like the Commercial Electric ones?

What housing should we be using to be flexible in picking the LED bulb/trim we want?

Pick the standard depth and not the shallow cans. Like http://www.homedepot.com/p/Halo-4-in-Air-Tite-Remodel-Housing-H99RTAT/100091684
