| Our contractor's electrician installed the same 5" recessed cans in our family room's vaulted ceiling as he did in the flat ceilings of our home. It is not "horrible", but when you look up a little bit, the light is shining right in your eyes rather than down at the floor.
What is the right recessed can to install in a high vaulted ceiling? Should it have been an adjustable gimbal ring? If we do swap out for a different type of can, what do we need to change?-- the whole housing? If so, what brand is recommended and how much will it cost per light? Thanks SO much.

| A fixture designed for a sloping ceiling would have been best. The link is for a 6" slope fixture. For your 5" housings you'll need to use an eyeball or gimbal to aim at the floor. |
Here is a link that might be useful: slope
