Questions about LED

Posted by haus_proud (My Page) on

We are thinking about using LED bulbs in our recessed ceiling lights in our living room and our kitchen -- both have vaulted ceilings. What we want is dimmable lights that give off a "natural" color, close to sunlight, NOT the harsh white lights of old fashioned flourencent.

Do we need to replace the recessed light fixtures, or will the LED bulbs work in existing fixtures. If we should replace the fixtures, what kind should we get?

Thanks for your help.

RE: Questions about LED

Cree LR6, LR4 and the upcoming CR6 lamps would work with standard recessed cans.

The new CR6 lamps will be about ~$50 and available around the middle of the year.
