Dining room chandelier

I'm trying to decide if this chandelier will work...I love it. My table is 40 inches wide by 120 inches long. The table in this picture is 42 inches wide, so not a huge difference, but I'm not sure if the picture is just for look and wouldn't functionally work...would someone hit their head on the chandelier when they stand up from the table? Also my ceilings are 8 ft. Do you think it would look okay if there isn't much "hang" in the cord? Thank you so much for your advise!!

I'm not a lighting designer, but I'd say that it would depend on the overall size of the room. That's quite a massive light. Seems to me that in a small room it would be overwhelming, especially with low ceilings.
