wiring on Tiffany Lamp

I bought a Tiffany Lamp online for my kitchen. The wiring is hardwired which I do not want to use. I want to make it a swag lamp but the wire is only 3 ft. Can I buy another wire and connect it to the wire that is coming from the lamp, to make it longer? I tried to see how the wiring was assembled, but I can't get the darn thing apart. I'm assuming that if I got it a part, I could just buy a 6 ft. wire and attach it.

Could you post a picture? you could probably just splice in some extra wire if you can find something to match, you can also get electrical tape in the same color so it will be barely visible. The best solution would be a new wire from the socket but you don't want to destroy the fixture...
