Recessed lighting installed in a floor

I am interested in a recessed light to install as a flush mount in a hardwood floor. I need to provide illumination in a doorway where one floor "steps up" via a slanted threshold to another floor. I have found two options, Eurofase and Edge. My ideal solution would be a narrow strip, LED source. Any advice?

There will be quite a bit of woodwork to ensure that the low voltage led strip fits well, ... If there is a joist directly below the desired location, things will get complicated.

Electroluminescent lighting could be an alternative solution if floor lighting is the only option.
