restocking fees on lighting returns .... UGH!

I should have read the fine print. I purchased an island light online to find that it maybe too big for our space. I decided to return the item to find out there is a 30% restocking fee along with $17 shipping charges. UGH! it will cost me 1/2 the cost of the lamp to return the item. I guess I should list it on ebay. Just wanted to vent to everyone. Do you think it will work in our space? This will be over a 5x3 granite countertop.

Here is the item?

anyone interested in buying? lol ....

That is one of the many hidden costs of buying on the internet. Often the companies don't even have a store or a representative in the US and offer no warranty service.
