| We are about the build a new house with a LOT of recessed lights. We want to use standard cans and put R30-style CFL flood bulbs so that we have an upgrade path to LED by just putting in LED screw-in bulbs someday. But the can the electrician wants to use (Lightolier 5 inch), and all the others I've seen so far, has the screw-in part low-down enough that the face of the bulb is even with the ceiling. We don't like how that looks - it makes glare and calls attention to the fixtures. Our current house has 20-year-old Juno cans where the screw-in part is bolted to the top of the can, which keeps the face of the bulb about 2 inches above the ceiling. That's much better. I'm hoping someone can tell me which brand/model to look for that will achieve this, or something like it. Either 6 or 5 inch cans would be OK. Thanks! |

| The Cree cr6 would be an excellent candidate. The link below has more info. |
