| I am trying to decide how many recessed lights to use for lighting my dinette area. This is a 10' x 13' area just off the kitchen that is open to the kitchen and an adjacent family room. We have a 3.5' diameter dinette table with four chairs near the middle of the room. This is the area we want to have good light. We also have cabinets and a counter lining one side.
We were thinking of using the Cree LR6 LEDs. How many 6" cans do you think will light the place adequately? I thought perhaps 3 but my wife says 4 because "even numbers look better". I just don't want the room to be too bright. We do plan on using a dimmer. Any thoughts are much appreciated! |

| I think 4 for the room would be best, but if you have a dinette table you may want a light over the table. If the counter is on the long side, 3 lights in a line might work. If the room except the counter is square, I'd say 4 lights with a hanging fixture over the table. |
