| We went over to a freind's house and admired his chandelier hanging above his two story foyer. He said he replaced the builder fixture, but didn't have scaffolding to get to the ceiling so he "spliced" the wires through the chain to add the new fixture.
That's totally not cool right? Like I shouldn't even consider doing this to my two story could reach the base if I tried, ugly foyer light. |

| You're saying the chain was cut/spliced, and so was the lamp cord wire that runs through the chain? While it's not best practice, it's probably not illegal. The wire can be soldered and shrink-tube insulated to be as good as new. My only concern would be if the new chandy had vastly more lamps than the old one, and needed a larger gauge of line. I'm not an electrician. Casey |
