| Hello,
we recently moved our dining room and living room. We have a very small house so it wasnt a big move. The only issue is now we do not have a ceiling light above our dining room table. Also, the attic is only about 8" high so I am unable to even crawl to run cable. Any ideas for dining room lighting where the ceiling does not have power ran to it? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. |

| You could get a special floor lamp that has a big "arc." It comes with a weighted bottom, marble or something else that is sort of heavy. And instead of going straight up like most floor lamps go, this one goes up a little ways and then makes a huge arc so that the light can be positioned some distance from the base of the lamp. Most lamps of this type tend to be modern or contemporary design and therefore might not blend with your decor if it is very traditional. But it's worth considering. Go to a search engine like google or bing and type in floor lamp. You'll see a few of the type I'm talking about. |

| Search for "swag lights." They plug into the wall and hang from a ceiling chain. Swag kits are also available to to change a hardwire hanging light into a swag plugin. |

| There are fixture boxes that can be installed from below the ceiling through a hole that will be filled with the new junction box. The support for the box expands and drives points into the adjacent ceiling joists. Fiberglass rods are used to "fish" the cable to the newly cut opening. |
