what's the benefit of double / triple recessed lights (chck pic)

i really love the look of these double recessed lights. however is there any specific benefit to using 2 recessed lights next to each other ??
i think they are more expensive than standard recessed lights.
is there any benefit of installing a similar lights with 2 adjacent lights in my living room when compared to a single 6" can??
my living room is 9 feet high and size is 20 X 12
