Help with high voltage UCL

I've been lurking here for a while and finally made an account to post this...

DW and I (see? I already know the lingo) are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and want to install dimmable LCD under cabinet lighting. Our GC doesn't have a clue and early on, our electrician installed high voltage romex wiring to the location of each cab and to a dimmer switch in the wall (next to the other switches for the overhead cans, etc.).

Further, the reveal under our cabs is tiny (3/4") and the standard block light bars everyone traditionally uses are bulky and can be seen when seated in the dining room connected to the kitchen.

We were hoping for tape lighting but have discovered here on GW that we have improper (high voltage instead of low voltage) wiring installed.

Do we just suck it up and install the LED version of the big ol' bulky lighting bars everyone has been using for the last 20 years? They have the drivers built in so no need to figure that out, which has its appeal. Anything else we should be factoring in?

Oh.. and time is of the essence, of course. Cabs are going in! THANKS! :)
