 o
cfl lightbulb question

I have a porch light that is also a dusk to dawn light. It takes the GU two prong cfl. Today I bought a 23 watt bulb but when I replaced the bulb I realized it was rated for a 13 watt. Is it okay to use this higher watt bulb or should I get the 13 watt? What danger would using the higher watt bulb pose? Thank you. Amy

"What danger would using the higher watt bulb pose?"

It may not light to full brightness, and it could damage the ballast.
