Recessed lights in living room with TV hung on wall

Hello All,

I need alittle help with recessed 6" can placement. I have a room that has 8' ceilings with dimensions of 13' by 24'. The TV is hung 12' (middle of the room) in and about 6' up for center point of the TV on the wall. I want to put recessed lighting in but i don't know what the spaceing should be. I believe that they should be 3 to 4 feet off the walls and no closer than 4 feet from each other. What i also am concerned with is that i don't want is to cast light over the screen creating a glare from the lights. Does anyone have any suggestions for this? And anyone have any suggestions as to how many lights i should have and is my spacing correct?

The lights should be spaced closer to the perimeter of the room - between 2 to 3' from the wall since that's where the typical seating areas are. The average living room illumination is about 20 lumens per sq ft. The principles behind the led recessed lighting for kitchens thread apply.

It makes sense to have separate groups of cans and circuits - switch off / dim when appropriate.
