Soffit/under cabinet lighting

Hi, I would appreciate opinions on LED options for lighting a kitchen/dining pass-through. Though there are cabinets above, the bottom of the cabinets/soffit at this area is at 7' so whatever lights are used will be very visible to persons seated at the dining table. In these situations, do folks usually use puck lights or other more traditional lighting wired into the upper cabinets?

We will use low voltage LED tape lights for other under-cabinet lighting but would prefer not to at this area if we can figure out a more eye-pleasing option. Thanks for any thoughts.

Ok, time for this to drop down. I went to the lighting store today and saw an eye-catching new product -- an LED slim panel. We might use it if it ends up being in the budget. Linked in case anyone is interested.

Here is a link that might be useful: UCL -- LED removable slim panel
